One may think you can only have a nautical wedding on the coast. Blue skies, clear waters and a beach backdrop made this outdoor wedding in Iowa absolutely beautiful.
Hunter and Tate’s wedding was held in Clear Lake. Hunter spent many summers there with friends and family, so this location had special meaning.
While meeting with Hunter, she described her wedding’s style as modern, fun and a bit relaxed. Bridesmaids would be wearing bold blue dresses and the spirit of the location needed to shine through the stationery.
The custom wedding invitations, programs and thank you postcards featured an illustrated anchor and nautical-striped backers. Invitation suites were printed on bright white cover stock with blues and greys. The invitations were mailed in a bright blue matching envelope.
I created a custom heart monogram and used modern typography. Both the invitation card and information card included the nautical stripes on the back with the monogram in the corner.
This outdoor wedding in August could have been a hot one, so program fans were in order. I created a two-sided custom program fan with a wavy wooden handle. The programs included the ceremony information, bridal party and a thank you from the bride and groom.
Thank you postcards were mailed out and included a gorgeous photo of Hunter and Tate on the dock.
Photography credit from the wedding goes to Katie Lindgren. Below are just a few shots that truly tell the story on this wedding day. Congrats Mr. and Mrs. Button!
